Rob Lopicola, Former NBC Weatherman and Recovered Sex Addict
Welcome and thank you for joining me on this transformative path towards sex addiction recovery.
I’m a former NBC weatherman and fitness model whose life was overtaken by alcohol, meth, and sex addiction, leading me from a promising career to the depths of homelessness and prison.
It was during those dark times that my coach helped me transform my life, propelling me to become a thriving author, coach, and speaker today.
Now, I passionately use my story to guide those struggling with sex addiction—helping them recognize the risks they face and empowering them to save their marriages, careers, reputations, and ultimately, their lives.
I am genuinely excited to reveal the driving force behind my dedication to supporting men in breaking free from the shackles of sex addiction and cultivating a life defined by healthy sexual expression and liberation.
Guiding individuals towards this profound transformation is not merely my calling but my ultimate joy and fulfillment.
However, this wasn't always the case. From a tender age, I harbored aspirations of becoming a revered television weatherman, inspired by my father's love for meteorology.
The vivid memory of the monumental Long Island blizzard of 1978, shared with my father, became the cornerstone of our enduring bond through turbulent storms and serene weather alike.
It was during the historic blizzard of 1978 that our bond solidified, weathering the storm together, symbolizing our enduring connection through life's tempestuous moments and tranquil spells.
A poignant chapter unfolded in Myrtle Beach where my father bid farewell to his beloved snowflakes, marking the end of his snow-loving era. He made the move to Myrtle Beach after retiring, cherishing his final encounter with snowflakes in February 2022 before his passing two months later.
His passing, following my mom's departure six years earlier, left an irreplaceable void in my heart.
Despite the challenges of navigating life without them, I found solace in my lifelong passion for weather phenomena, continuing to closely monitor hurricanes, thunderstorms, and New England blizzards.
Transitioning from a challenging upbringing of a broken home on welfare, I pursued my childhood dream with unwavering determination. By 20, I thrived as a radio broadcasting meteorologist, achieving my first television role at 26.
At 28, I secured a coveted weather anchor position at WPTV, a standout moment in my journey.
For nearly a decade, I graced the screens of the Palm Beaches as a renowned weatherman, garnering top Nielson ratings and accolades like "Best Weathercaster in South Florida." Recognized as the "Mighty Meteorologist," I reported live from the National Hurricane Center amidst intense storms.
Following a rewarding tenure as a weather broadcaster, life threw unforeseen challenges my way as I wrestled with personal demons.
Succumbing to meth and sex addiction plunged me into a whirlwind of despair and disillusionment, eventually leading me to a period of introspection and transformation during my time behind bars.
Guided by my Coach Tony, I underwent a profound transformation, shedding the shackles of alcoholism, meth, and sex addiction to emerge from prison as a resilient, successful individual.
For many years, I have flourished as a transformed individual, driven by a newfound purpose to aid others on a similar journey towards healthy living and self-empowerment as they craft new stories of vitality and fortitude.
Today, I channel my experiences into coaching men grappling with sex addiction, offering a beacon of hope for those seeking transformation.
By sharing my path to recovery, I aim to instill a sense of balance, happiness, and success in others as they redefine their narratives and embrace life with newfound vigor and resilience.

Imagine finding yourself released from prison after serving five years, burdened with four felonies, no money, a suspended license, and no job or income. Picture living in a small room with your brother, battling Hepatitis C, without a car and having destroyed credit. Visualize the grief of losing your mother just a year before your release, moving to a small town where you have no friends, and facing the monumental challenge of rebuilding your life in a society where your reputation has been destroyed. Would you feel hopeless in such a situation?
Now, consider that this was me. In just seven years, I transformed my circumstances entirely. I published three books and earned nine certifications, including Master Personal Trainer, Transformation Specialist, Behavioral Health Coach, and Life Coach specializing in Sex Addiction Recovery. I achieved my 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and created a YouTube channel where I produced over 120 videos, attracting more than 1,000 subscribers within its first year.
Today, I own a fitness and coaching studio, drive a Mazda Miata and a Jeep Wrangler, and have adopted a dog. I’ve secured my own home (though renting) and built a supportive community of positive friends and a healthy family structure.
Through all these challenges, including the heartbreaking loss of my precious father in 2022, I maintained my freedom from sex, meth, and alcohol addiction. Remarkably, I achieved all of this without any financial support from family or government—no one ever gave me money. I built my business from the ground up, despite having no prior entrepreneurial experience, and I've kept the same coach for the past 20 years. I am no longer Hepatitis C positive, thanks to successful medication.
Today, I continue to grow, pursuing bigger dreams and passions, and dedicating myself to helping others transform their lives just as I have transformed mine.
If I can rise from such overwhelming challenges, so can you. Embrace the possibility of your own transformation. Let me help you!
I understand the weight of the struggle you’re carrying—the loneliness, the anxiety, and that persistent sense of hopelessness that seems to follow you everywhere.
I know that seeking help for compulsive sexual behavior and sex addiction is not something the average man considers lightly, and if you're here, it’s likely because you’re in deep pain and searching for a way out.
I have walked a similar path, one that leads through the darkest moments of feeling trapped in compulsive sexual behaviors and overshadowed by shame. There was a time when I found myself on the brink—an NBC weatherman turned homeless, lost in a world of compulsive acts that only deepened my despair.
I remember being homeless and riding my bike to a sex club, believing that a fleeting moment of “relief” could ease the sadness of my life. But no matter how hard I ran from my pain, it was waiting for me every time I returned to reality.
But here’s the truth—I am no longer defined by that darkness. I have found healing, strength, and freedom, and it’s my profound joy to guide you toward that same liberation. I believe with every fiber of my being that life change - recovery from the chaos - is not just a dream but a reality waiting for you.
If you resonate with my story, know that healing from the shame and trauma of your addiction is possible. I am committed to supporting you every step of the way as you reclaim your life, free yourself from the cycle of compulsive behavior, and discover the peace you’ve been searching for.
Welcome to the beginning of a new chapter—a journey where you can finally find what you have been running toward all along: FREEDOM. Let's walk this path together.

During my meteorology career, I balanced a dynamic portfolio serving both as an international fitness model for Blue Door Production Company and gracing the pages of Exercise For Men Only international publications and calendars.
Vanity accolades followed, with Palm Beach Illustrated recognizing me as the sexiest male anchor and a top contender for best hair in South Florida. Additionally, a public poll on 95.5FM crowned me the best-looking male anchor in the region.
Beyond my on-screen presence, I shared my expertise by teaching meteorology at Palm Beach Community College and honed my public speaking skills through engagements at various educational institutions and community events.
With nearly two decades of experience in public speaking, I've engaged audiences at schools, colleges, universities, men's and women's clubs, and community outreach programs, enriching lives through shared knowledge and inspirational dialogues.
I volunteered for numerous charities and in 2005 I earned the Dandy Don Award for being a true voice in the community. I hosted many public events such at PRIDE and non-profit events of the Palm Beaches.
Facing a tumultuous battle with alcoholism, methamphetamine use, and sex addiction, my life spiraled out of control, plunging my once flourishing career as an NBC weatherman into darkness.
Engulfed by drugs, risky behaviors, and self-destructive patterns, I waded through a realm of regret, shame, and despair.
Trapped in a cycle of addiction, my struggles with sex, crystal meth, and alcohol led me to a place of deep self-hatred and isolation. The consequences were immense - from substantial financial costs of losing my career and time in and out of therapy to a five-year incarceration that marked a profound loss of income and shattered relationships.
The toll extended beyond monetary losses, affecting my confidence, self-worth, and mental well-being in immeasurable ways. My journey through sex addiction and methamphetamine abuse left me depleted, lost, and yearning for a resurrection from the ruin that had engulfed me.
But out of this despair, a story of redemption and transformation emerged, illuminating a path towards healing and renewal.
Rob Lopicola, Former NBC Weatherman and Recovered Sex Addict
During the tumultuous years of 2006-2012, I was ruthlessly ensnared by the rapid progression of addiction to alcohol, sex, and crystal meth, surrounded by chaos and instability. This destructive path led to a critical turning point, culminating in my incarceration at 42.
Those five years behind bars were the most grueling, painful, and lonely experiences of my life, yet they paved the way for a transformation marked by spiritual enlightenment and coaching.
Behind the high walls, in the depths of isolation and fear, I confronted the raw truths of my life. Stripped of the masks I had worn, I faced the reality of the destruction my choices had wreaked on myself and those I loved. My career lay in ruins, my reputation decimated, and my selfishness had brought immense disappointment and pain to others.
The solitude forced upon me an introspection that rebuilt my morals and values, reshaped my character, and rekindled my relationship with God. There was a period during those 5 years where I lived in the shadows of sunless months—36 of them in total not seeing sunlight—that I began to transform the way I think, behave, and live.
Never before had I experienced such profound pain and loss. My mother's passing, just a year before my release, was a crushing blow, a devastating event that pierced my spirit while I was confined, without the comfort of human touch or reassuring words.
This isolation was a price I had to pay for the chaos and pain my progressive addictions, reckless choices, and selfish decisions had caused.
Yet even amidst the desolation, this time offered me profound metamorphosis. It was a period of surrender to a new way of living, guided by the wise instruction of my coach Tony. His teachings helped me forge a new path, one centered on recovery and growth.
Upon my release in 2017, at age 47, I emerged as a renewed individual, breaking free from the chains of addiction.
Today, I stand firm in my commitment to sustaining this positive change, steadfastly avoiding past destructive patterns. I embrace a life of transformation and growth, anchored in the lessons learned during that profound and transformative period of my life.
I am a registered sex offender, a label that originates from a tumultuous period in my life marked by compulsive sexual behavior, alcohol, methamphetamine addiction, and reckless decisions.
During this time, I engaged in an inappropriate online sexual interaction - cybersex with a minor - leading to a conviction and a 60-month sentence.
While I never participated in exchanging images or engaged in physical contact with minors, I acknowledge the severe errors in judgment and the significant boundaries I crossed using sexual fantasy in the form of cybersex with a high school teen.
Prior to my arrest, I was grappling with a convergence of crises: bankruptcy, homelessness, profound hopelessness, meth addiction, and suicidal tendencies.
This was one of the darkest and most deeply impactful times of my life, forcing me to confront my vulnerabilities and the destructive path I was on. Following my arrest and eventual release from prison, I am irrevocably committed to steering clear of those destructive behaviors.
This transformative journey has fueled my determination to coach men struggling with compulsive sexual behavior and sex addiction, guiding them away from the harsh and extreme consequences I endured.
My experiences serve as a testament and a powerful teaching tool to help others reclaim their lives and avoid the devastation that once dominated mine.
During my time behind bars, I experienced a profound spiritual and mental transformation, akin to a storm that swept through my soul and left behind a renewed landscape.
As I embraced new patterns of behavior as a Christian Minister and 12-step sponsor, I shed my old destructive habits and emerged like a butterfly from a cocoon, transformed and reformed.
Facing the stark reality of my past, I felt the crushing weight of losses that affected my career, reputation, health, and freedom. In that abyss, my mentor Tony extended a lifeline—a beacon in the darkness guiding me through spiritual and mental shifts toward a profound transformation.
From the confines of jail to a revitalized life, Tony's coaching was the catalyst for a remarkable change in both mindset and behavior. Transitioning from desperation to hope, I experienced a personal rebirth powered by a new approach to living.
Tony's words about my extreme sex addiction acted as a powerful motivator, igniting a monumental shift within me.
Through unwavering dedication to spiritual and mental practices, I not only survived but thrived, standing as a testament to the resilience and power of transformation in overcoming addiction.
Even when confronted by the tantalizing temptations of drugs, sex, and alcohol, my newfound self-respect fortified my resolve, guiding me along a path imbued with spiritual principles and positive thinking.
With self-reflection and the steady guidance of my coach Tony, I navigated the turbulent waters of change, emerging from prison clean, sober, and with a revitalized mindset.
This pivotal shift in thinking not only saved my life but unveiled a profound sense of hope and love, lighting the way toward personal growth and fulfillment.
Today, I stand free from the grips of active sex addiction, a living testament to the transformative power of recovery. I extend an open hand to all men seeking liberation from compulsive behaviors, offering a path toward a life filled with joy, success, and boundless vitality.
Let my journey be an inspiration—a beacon of hope lighting the way to freedom.
